Drake Rounds-out its Video Encoder Platform

Complementing their very successful SDE24 MPEG SD (standard definition) encoder, Drake is pleased to introduce the HDE24 MPEG HD (high definition) encoder. In fashion with the SDE24 the HDE24 is a module designed to offer customers a scalable and affordable HD encoding platform when installed in Drake’s EH24 multiplexing encoder host or MEQ1000 multiplexing QAM modulator. Many companies offer SD and HD encoders but none can match Drake’s level of flexibility, performance, and price. Features that include MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 H.264 video encoding, Dolby® Digital AC-3 audio encoding, EAS (emergency alert) support, and closed caption encoding set Drake’s HDE24 HD encoder apart from all others. Drake’s modular system approach to local encoding is providing a variety of customers such as cable operators, cruise ship lines and facility operators, including hospitals and sports stadiums, an opportunity to migrate to “all digital networks” within the tight budget constraints that have become the norm for most businesses today.
