WASHINGTON, April 1, 2009 – R.L. Drake, an American cable TV equipment manufacturer committed to designing and building highly innovative communications solutions for over 65 years, has checked in as distributor of LG Electronics’ Pro: Idiom® cable transcoders to cable operators in the United States and Canada. Drake will integrate the revolutionary Pro:Idiom system into its Drake Digital Hospitality Solutions, a customized line of products for the lodging and health care industries to offer securely encrypted HD video content for guests.

Drake Digital HD Hospitality Solutions also includes a custom designed, secure, rack-based headend for each property incorporating LG’s Pro:Idiom Cable Transcoders, Drake’s Hybrid QAM Modulators, related technical components, and Drake’s legendary customer support.

Pro:Idiom is embedded in the TV, which eliminates the need for set top boxes in the room, and prevents guests from tampering with components or pirating digital content. The system is ideal for both cable-delivered pay TV content and video-on-demand (VOD) services.
